If you've followed Equidae for a while, you'll know I'd much rather be talking about horses than myself.

But I suppose it's only fair you know who's behind all of this.

I'm Amy, owner of Equidae Botanicals, and I live on a farm in the beautiful Southern Highlands of New South Wales.

Equidae didn't begin in a boardroom.

It began in paddocks.

Freddie, my Off-The-Track Thoroughbred with four white socks, taught me just how relentless greasy heel can be and the importance of products that are both gentle and effective.

Humphrey, my big Clydesdale cross with his enormous baldy face and permanently pink nose, is the reason I bought Equidae Botanicals in 2022. Finding a sunscreen I could trust for him inspired what is now our Soothing & Calm Sunscreen Powder.

And then there's Hank, our young Appaloosa, who reminds me every day that young horses are equal parts joy and chaos. His spotted bottom makes me smile. His mane and tail... well, let's just say they're still a work in progress.

The truth is, those three horses are only part of the story. Every horse I've owned, and every horse that's come through our gates over the years, has taught me something and helped shape Equidae into what it is today.

When I took over Equidae, I didn't want to create more products.

I wanted to create better ones.

We've refined every formula using human-grade, plant-based ingredients wherever possible, removed unnecessary fillers, and continue to make everything in small batches. Every product is tested on our own horses before it reaches yours.

But Equidae has never really been about products.

It's about giving horse owners the confidence to make thoughtful decisions in a world full of noise.

I believe good horse care comes back to the basics: forage, movement, good management, thoughtful nutrition, and quality products when they're genuinely needed.
