“What can help promote healthy skin and comfort for horses during challenging seasons?”

DERMAblend is a targeted nutritional supplement formulated for horses prone to skin sensitivity, irritation, and seasonal discomfort—especially in humid or insect-heavy environments. This unique blend helps maintain skin resilience, coat shine, and overall condition from within.

Combining natural ingredients like Kelp, Nettle, Organic Zinc, Biotin, Omega-3s, Amino Acids, and Antioxidants, DERMAblend also includes a powerful broad-spectrum mycotoxin binder to support digestive balance and the body's natural detox processes.

DERMAblend is designed to support:

  • Skin and coat health, especially during seasonal changes
  • Horses exposed to biting insects and environmental stressors
  • Nutritional balance for horses with sensitive skin

Equine skin is made up of three layers: the epidermis; the outer & protective layer of the skin. Dermis; the middle, structural and nourishing layer, Contains collagen, elastin, blood vessels, hair follicles, sweat glands, and nerve endings, and the subcutaneous tissue which is the innermost layer of the skin.

DERMAblend was developed to nutritionally nourish and support these layers, along with hair and hoof integrity, through comprehensive internal nutrition with:

  • Nettle – Traditionally valued in natural health practices for its role in supporting skin comfort and balance.
  • Australian Kelp – Rich in minerals that help support hydration and skin health by promoting circulation and nutrient delivery.
  • Australian Zeolite – A natural volcanic mineral known for its detoxifying properties and ability to support digestive function.
  • Mycotoxin Binder – A broad-spectrum natural binder selected to assist with maintaining gut integrity and managing feed quality concerns.
  • Organic Zinc (Zn), Magnesium (Mg) & Copper (Cu) – Important trace minerals that contribute to healthy skin, coat condition, and overall wellbeing.
  • Biotin – Supports the structure and strength of skin, coat, hooves, and connective tissues.
  • Vitamin E – A powerful antioxidant that contributes to cellular defense and oxidative balance.
  • Omega-3 Fatty Acids – Help maintain cellular function and support a shiny, healthy coat.
  • Methionine (Amino Acid) – Plays a role in supporting the liver and natural detoxification processes within the body.

DERMAblend may support horses who:

  • Are prone to skin sensitivity and discomfort during periods of high insect activity
  • Experience seasonal changes that may affect skin condition and coat quality
  • Have dry, flaky, or irritated skin, particularly in humid or wet environments
  • Show signs of skin and coat stress such as rubbing, dryness, or hair thinning
  • Have lost mane or tail hair due to repeated rubbing or seasonal factors

FAQs

Is this safe for mares in foal?

Yes, this formula is safe for mares in foal and lactating mares. The Silica from the Nettle will help with skin irritation.

My Horse only gets bad skin in summer, do I need to stay on this all year round to get good results?

While it is absolutely safe to stay on all year round and is great for horses guts, skin and has a broad range of vitamins and minerals. We suggest getting off DERMAblend for the Winter months and starting back again at the beginning of spring. That way you are setting their insides and skin up for success in summer. We have also added a Mycotoxin Binder to help with sugary grasses and mould in hay.

What is the texture of this supplement?

This one is quite mineral dense so it is quite powdery and will need a little dampening in feed so nothing gets left behind. It will stick to chaff when damp.

How long does it take to start working?

This is a tricky question, some horses you start to see changes in their coat within 2-3 weeks, others can take up to 6-8 weeks to notice any changes, it really depends on in individual.

My dog suffers from seasonal irritation, is it safe for dogs?

Yes it is safe for dogs, you will only need 1 tsp per 5 kgs of bodyweight. It hasn't been made for dogs so the palatability is not great but some of our customers have had success with hiding it in food.

How much Copper is in DERMAblend?
